The Daniel Fast (or Daniel Diet) refers to Daniel's 3-week dietary practice (from the Old Testament), which excludes meat, dairy, sugar, alcohol, bread, eggs, and all refined ingredients. It is essentially a vegan diet, but without dairy, intended to challenge you while allowing for increased focus on prayer. This dietary restriction is believed to reset your body, mind, gut, taste buds, and lifestyle.
To support this fast, we provide a strict Soup Range that meets the dietary requirements. Please choose a package, and if you are participating in the 3-week fast, plan for 3-4 soups per day.
The Daniel Fast is based on the biblical text found in Daniel 10:3, which states, "I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled." [1] As described in the Book of Daniel, the fast limits food choices to vegetables and water. Therefore, it requires abstinence from "meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, chocolate, ice cream, sugar, sweets, wine, or any alcoholic beverages."
