Is FitChef expensive?
We started FitChef because we were appalled at how unhealthy the food industry was. I’m sure you’ll agree that health and food quality are linked.

You have been coned by the food industry and food professionals into simply just thinking of food in terms of calories, carbs, protein and fats BUT we should be thinking in terms of quality calories, the source of calories and the density of vitamins, minerals, enzymes and fibre.

The food industry would rather add nutrient deficient thickening flour than add more vegetable to thicken a sauce. It’s impossible to thrive on most modern food!

There had to be a better solution based on common sense, experience and results… that’s why we decided to make food and drinks with real whole food ingredients.

Creating FitChef has been challenging, we can certainly report that it’s been way harder than we thought to produce clean food without preservatives, chemicals, additives, flavourants, thickeners, refined ingredients with antibiotic and growth hormone free meats.

4 Reasons why is it harder to produce REAL food?

it’s really hard finding good ingredients without additives and preservatives. Many products don’t declare additives, especially if they are below a certain quantity, which is ridiculous.
with real veg, fruit, herbs, spices, oils, nuts and seeds you will find a lot of variation between seasons, there are changes in sweetness, colour, smell, fibre, ripeness, size and water content. You must take more precaution to avoid getting stones, twigs and grit in your food.
the price of veggies fluctuates like the stock market daily and there’s often shortages of produce.
with real food you need a lot of people involved for pealing, cooking, tasting, plating and weighing each portion.

To sum up. FitChef is obsessively committed to real food ingredients. A FitChef meal can provide you with up to 10 times more real food. When cooking a 300g vegetarian meal we can easily use up to 500g of raw pealed veggies.

With FitChef you’re actually getting what you paid for: real food. So if real food is important to you and you realise the advantages, then FitChef represents incredible value for money.

Many customers living on FitChef food report saving up to R3000/month and it’s far more convenient when compared to buying food while on the run, trying to find the time to cook and prepare raw ingredients while often throwing away loads of expired food.
